2019 National Student Leadership Forum on Faith & Values
THE “NEED TO KNOW” INFORMATION
When is my payment due for the Forum?
Payment is due by Wednesday, September 25th. Your spot will not be completely secure until the payment has been received. Payment can be made here: https://www.nslforum.org/nslf-payment
What if I need financial assistance to attend the Forum?
We have a few recommendations on how you can get financial help to attend the Forum!
Take a personalized endorsement letter created by our office to your university to request funding. You may be able to find funding through your student affairs office, the dean of your college, the head of your department, or the director of your student union. If you would like to receive a personalized endorsement letter, please contact our office at email@example.com.
Start a “GoFundMe” and ask for assistance from your personal network and local community organizations who may be willing to support you having the NSLF experience.
Ask your friends and family to help! You can even make specific requests like frequent flyer miles, gas money, partial funding for your Forum fee, etc. If they would like to learn more about NSL, feel free to send them our way!
Get creative! You could have friends help you put on a car wash or ask friends and family to donate items for a garage sale.
When do I need to arrive on Friday, October 25th?
Plan to arrive and register at the Hyatt Regency Washington Hotel on Capitol Hill between 11:00am and 3:00pm ET. The doors will open for the first session at 3:30pm ET.
When will the Forum conclude on Sunday, October 27th?
The Forum will conclude at 2:00pm ET.
What’s the address for the Hyatt Regency Washington Hotel on Capitol Hill?
400 New Jersey Avenue NW, Washington, D.C. 20001
How do I check in when I arrive at the hotel?
When you arrive, the NSLF team will point you towards our check-in table! You will need your ID for registration.
Which Washington, D.C. airport should I fly in and out of?
The closest airport to the Forum is Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport (DCA) - approximately 15 minutes from the hotel. Alternative airport options include Dulles International Airport (IAD) and Baltimore/Washington Thurgood Marshall International Airport (BWI). If you fly into IAD or BWI, you’ll need to plan for 45 minutes of commute time to the hotel.
If I plan to drive to the Forum, where should I park my car?
You can valet park your car through the hotel ($62/night) or at Union Station ($24/night), which is a few blocks away. Please note that NSLF will not cover the parking costs.
Am I allowed to stay with friends or at a different hotel?
We require all students to stay at the Forum hotel to make sure they get the full NSLF experience.
What should I pack?
You’ll need to wear business professional for our time at the Capitol on Sunday, October 27th. Otherwise, plan to wear business casual (nice pants/jeans, shirt/sweater, etc.) throughout the majority of the weekend. Bring comfortable walking shoes and a coat for a late night event on Friday, October 25th!
